Where are we now?

So, the big question is where are we now? Well, two and a half years later and we are still here so that’s a good start! Despite opening during an uncertain time, we are pleased to announce that SJM Properties has gone from strength to strength in Lettings & Management.

How we have progressed…

Our property portfolio has expanded every month, covering all areas of Taunton, Wellington, Bridgwater and Yeovil and we are proud to say a vast number of our new business has come from Landlord referrals - thank you very much to any of those reading! Hopefully this is an indication of how we have strived to build lasting relationships with our landlords and tenants and worked hard to achieve outstanding customer service.

In line with this, our team has also grown to an adept trio - with the addition of Kaye in August 2021 and most recently Jess in October this year! While remaining a small team, we each cover every stage of the lettings process and aim to provide a personalised service for our customers. We have been pleased to see our feedback on Google and other social media platforms has reflected these core values.

Our Letting Agent office has been at The Crescent in Taunton Town Centre for over a year now which has worked well (we are just eagerly waiting for Steven to put the Christmas Decorations up!).

Highlights from the year include…

Helping a Ukrainian family in Taunton find housing in the summer; as an independent Letting Agent, it felt great to offer a small helping hand to someone in need during such a difficult time.

In addition to this, we are now sponsoring Sonny Baker at Somerset Cricket Club. As a small business we believe in supporting local, so it was a great achievement for us to get involved with our local team which are based in our hometown Taunton.

Looking to the future…

We are excited to see what the future holds for SJM Properties and are aware it will not be without challenges; the current cost of living crisis is something at the forefront of everyone’s minds but we as we did with the Coronavirus pandemic, we are adapting with every obstacle! To aid any uncertainty for landlords in the current climate, we are offering a Rent Protection Fully Managed Service at 12% (this is an additional add-on to our Fully Managed Service at 8%).

We are always looking at ways to improve the business and provide value to our service for our landlords and tenants. At present we are looking at increasing our social media presence and introducing quarterly newsletters to keep you all updated with what is going on with the market, with us and with the services we offer.
