The county town of Somerset, Taunton has a rich one thousand year history dating back to the Saxons. Today Taunton has a population of almost 70,000 people.

Taunton is home to various attractions such as Somerset County Cricket Club, the Museum of Somerset, and Taunton Racecourse Taunton is home to some big employers including Musgrove park hospital, the UK Hydrographics Office and the base of 40 Commando, Royal Marines and is also a commuter town with a major national rail station offering direct trains to Bristol and a direct 1h40m route to London as well as close proximity to the M5.
